how to recover unsaved word document

If you’ve been working on a Word document and it was not saved before an unexpected event or a system crash occurred, you may be able to recover it using the following methods:
AutoRecover Feature:
Open Microsoft Word.
Look for the „File” tab in the top-left corner and click on it.
Select „Open” from the options.
In the Open dialog box, locate and select „Recent Documents” or „Recover Unsaved Documents” (the exact wording may vary depending on your version of Word).
Look for the unsaved document in the list of recovered files. Select it and click „Open” to recover the file.
Document Recovery Pane:
Open Microsoft Word.
Look for the „File” tab in the top-left corner and click on it.
Select „Open” from the options.
In the Open dialog box, click on „Browse” (usually located at the bottom right).
Navigate to the location where your unsaved document may have been stored.
Look for files with the „.asd” extension (AutoRecover files).
Select the file you want to recover and click „Open”.
Temporary File Location:
Open Microsoft Word.
Look for the „File” tab in the top-left corner and click on it.
Select „Options” from the options.
In the Word Options dialog box, click on „Save” in the left-hand pane.
Locate the „AutoRecover file location” field. The file path displayed there indicates the default location where temporary files are stored.
Open Windows Explorer (or File Explorer) and navigate to the AutoRecover file location.
Look for files with the „.asd” extension.
Select the appropriate file and open it with Microsoft Word to recover your unsaved work.
Temporary Files Folder:
Open Windows Explorer (or File Explorer).
In the address bar, enter „%temp%” (without quotes) and press Enter.
This will take you to the Temporary Files folder.
Look for files with the „.tmp” extension that may correspond to your unsaved Word document.
Copy the file(s) you suspect might contain your work to a different location.
Change the file extension from „.tmp” to „.docx” or „.doc” and try opening it with Microsoft Word.
